evangelineDr. Evangeline S. Pianfetti is currently faculty within the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education at the University of Illinois.  Formely, she was the Assistant Dean of Learning Technologies and the Director of the Office of Educational Technology (OET).  Her research interests include how technologies and digital media are changing the way we learn, how we learn, and where we learn.  Specifically, she looks at how mobile learning and devices impact learning spaces, delivery of content, and design of curriculum.  She has extensive experience in providing professional development to P12 educators and higher education faculty, and administering and innovating with online learning environments.  For over 10 years, she has helped coordinate a statewide institute for educators.  This institute is a nationally recognized model for professional development by the Microsoft Corporation.  Under her leadership, OET was recognized and awarded Innovative Teacher of the Year by Association for Colleges of Teacher Education and Microsoft.  Evangeline is also a Smithsonian Laureate for classroom innovation in technology and a Gold Award winner in the thinkQuest for Tomorrow’s Teachers competition for “ScienceNet: Project-base physical science”
